The soul of Video Animation

You’re sitting in front of your computer to check updates on your Facebook account and suddenly your attention is caught by an advertisement of a product that you never thought of buying.
What could have caught your attention on something you wouldn’t bother looking at? Perhaps, a Video animation! How it is different in communicating to you from the usual banner ad is that video animation puts the viewer in front of a character and a story, which is catchy and exciting.

The video animation gets your attention and pulls you into the world revolving around the character. Most often than not, the world of the product it advertises. However, it goes beyond that, Video animation is a leap of creativity, Video animation draws a smile to you, Video animation wraps you in a world made up of designs and colors – It is where precision of the lines are not important! Video animation is usually playful and drives emotional attachment. And if the video animation is at its finest; it will drive you to make choices.

The aim of a video animator is to speak to the conscience, mind and soul through drawings! Capturing the audience through drawing by producing a character and pulling out colors are secondary, most important is the passion that drives the video animator to communicate. A good video animator needs to visualize the character and translate it into animation.

The passion for visual communication is the turning point of 2D video animation. The ability to convey and invoke emotion through freehand sketching is a fundamental component of the trade in video animation. The animator’s hand becomes the bridge between thought and image thus the end result being the video animation and the message that it conveys.
